About Us

Hope Benjamin Cole

My name is Hope Benjamin Cole and I started homeschooling my two amazing kids, both of whom are neurodivergent with learning disabilities, in 2008. Homeschooling allowed them both to thrive and gave me much experience as an Accessibility Educator. I have also enjoyed creating home school curricula, leading field trips, classes, and co-ops for many other children who learn differently or have special needs.

Prior to becoming a Homeschool Educator, I was a nurse for 15 years, and before that a nursing assistant for 6 years. During those 21 years in nursing, I lectured as a certified nursing assistant instructor, volunteered to tutor adults in reading, and taught English language learners. I absolutely love being engaged in helping people learn!

I grew up in a suburb north of Philly, Go Eagles! My partner and I have been together since 2003. We married and had our oldest child in Chicago and then moved to Northern VA, outside DC, where we had our second child. Now we call Upstate SC home.

Outside of coaching, I enjoy spending time with my family or grabbing coffee with friends. My personal time also includes volunteering, thrifting, journaling, and Netflix. I'm a vegetarian who loves eating a plant based diet. I adore rainbows and wear them in every outfit. I even sport rainbow sneakers and carry a rainbow print backpack!

I am a person with multiple marginalized identities, and having this business be an inclusive space is a value I hold very highly. I became a coach not because I see myself as an expert, but because I know I'm someone who can help others discover their own expertise.  My goal is to work collaboratively with each family, providing mentorship, curriculum advising, and resources that enlighten, encourage, and empower. I have a lot of lived and practical experience with many kinds of homeschooling challenges. I so get how difficult this can be when a kiddo is melting down, when the brand new curriculum just isn't working, and when you're desperately afraid your child is "falling behind". I've got tips and strategies, screenings, accommodations, and all kinds of creative solutions that have helped me, have helped others, and that I look forward to sharing with you too!
